What to do in Nakuru

Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park is home to lion, rhinoceros, leopard, hippo and many more species. It is not only an ideal park for game drives but has hiking trails and picnic spots with beautiful views and plenty of opportunities for watching the park’s 400+ bird species.
As the name suggests, the park is also home to Lake Nakuru and its vibrant flock of flamingo. The birds and their beautiful pink feathers attract tourists from all over the world.
Menengai Crater is the largest volcanic crater in Kenya. It is another ideal bird-watching spot and has wonderful aerial views of Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria.
Lord Egerton Castle
Lord Egerton Castle is located fourteen kilometres outside Nakuru town. The castle is famed for its architectural design and has beautiful picnic sites for families and groups to enjoy.
Hyrax Hill Prehistoric Site
The prehistoric site is located four kilometers from Nakuru town. It has ideal picnic spots, a tortoise farm and excavation sites which are perfect for nature trails.
